Police Officer Shot, Killed In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS, Pa. -- Authorities have confirmed with Channel 11 News that a police officer was shot and killed Sunday night in Penn Hills.
According to police, the shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. after the officer responded to a domestic dispute along Johnston Road.The officer, whose name has not been released, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Neighbors said they heard shots fired in the area and said the suspect, whose name has not been released, drove away in a dark colored Jeep Cherokee with license plate HFC 6470.The suspect is described as a 27-year-old black male standing about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. The man is described as having black hair and brown eyes.Police consider the man to be armed and dangerous.
